Can you send an email from a computer to a mobile fone using phone number?

I have tried to do this but to no avail. Perhaps its not something that can be done. mobile does have inet connection and is turned on

Almost every cell phone carrier has that capability. You just send email to:

Reply:I believe if you download skype you have the ability to e mail a mobile phone.
Reply:If you use your phone to send a text message to your computer email addy then it will show you where the message came from (like 123-456-7890@cingularme.com or something) try doing that and then using your computer to send to that addy and see if it works. I don't see why it wouldn't, if you can send from phone to computer it should work reverse. HTH
Reply:Depends what your service is. For t-mobile, for example, every phone has the email yourphonenumber@tmomail.net. You can see if your service provider has something like that.
