You have to find out what carrier the recipient has for their mobile service. Once you find that out, go to their carrier's web page. On the page there should be instructions for texting that person from your email.
For example, if a person's carrier is Verizon, you can text them from your email address using their phone number and adding "@vtext.com" at the end.
